| Roland G. Simpson, the principal attorney of Roland G. Simpson, A Law Corporation, has practiced for more than forty years in the areas of employee benefits, fiduciary responsibility, multiemployer plans and executive compensation. Mr. Simpson is President of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel and a member of the College’s Board of Governors. Mr. Simpson has been an author and lecturer in the field of employee benefits for programs sponsored by the American Law Institute-American Bar Association, the Practising Law Institute, the USC Institute on Federal Taxation, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the Society of Certified Employee Benefits Plan Specialists, the Conference of Actuaries in Public Practice, the Institute for Business Law, the California Bankers Association Bank Counsel Seminar and the Taxation Sections of the State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County and Beverly Hills Bar Associations. Mr. Simpson is an adjunct professor in the LL.M. (Taxation) program of Loyola Law School|Los Angeles teaching the program’s courses on Employee Pensions and Benefits and on Executive Compensation. From 1982-1999, Mr. Simpson was an adjunct professor in Golden Gate University’s Graduate School of Taxation, teaching courses on qualified retirement plans, taxation of executive compensation, retirement plan distributions and the income taxation of trusts and estates. Mr. Simpson attended the University of Notre Dame earning a B.A. with honors and received his J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law. He is admitted to the State Bar of California, the State Bar of Texas, the United States Tax Court, the United States District Courts for the Central, Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of California and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Simpson is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and a Life Member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Western Pension and Benefits Conference, having served as the President of the Los Angeles Chapter and Chairman of the Joint Council of Presidents of the Western Pension & Benefits Conference. |
